The word "Geyser" originates from the Icelandic "geysa", which means "to explode". Geysers are sources of hot water, which rapidly throw steam and water upwards. Most geysers may be seen on Iceland, in the USA, Japan or in New Zealand. In New Zealand the Pohuku geyser is the most interesting. It is connected with the Prince of Wales Feathers geyser. Firstly, the second of them throws steam together with water up to half a meter for even five hours, and then it stops - a moment later the Pohutu starts gushing. Geysers’ eruptions may last from a few minutes to even several days.
